Terry Fox Run

Tomorrow we will be having the Terry Fox Run.  Students in grades 4-12 will be completing a run around the community.  Students in grade K-3 will be running around the track.  Please be sure any outstanding forms (if your child brought one home) have been returned and that students are dressed appropriately for running.

Google Drive Instructions

Dear Parents,

Your child will be working with the Google Education interface, most notably, 
Google Drive and Google Slides. Some of the students have had prior knowledge
of its set-up, while others are learning their way around this format for the first time. 
Here are some instructions for you so that you can follow your child’s work and also
sites I will send them during the year.

Logging In

There are various ways to access your child’s Google Drive.

1. One way is to download the Google Drive app on your mobile device (e.g., iPad, cell, etc.,) 
2. Go to the Google search engine from your computer and click on the Sign In icon,

sign in with the username and password above that your child already knows

3. Search Google Drive on the Google search engine

Once logged in, you can view your child’s work in My Drive, and other work previously
completed. 

The sites I will send them for different learning endeavours can be found during the year

under the Shared With Me tab.  

First few weeks

After a rather crazy first couple of weeks, we have settled into our groove.  We have been learning the rules and routines of the class and having fun getting to know one another.

Terry Fox Run

Our class will be participating in the Terry Fox Run at the end of the month. The grade 3s will be running the track and the grade 4s will be running in the community with the 4-8 classes. The grade 4s are able to collect pledges. Any grade 4s interested in collecting money can bring home a pledge form tomorrow.  Students are responsible for the pledge form, if they decide not to collect pledges the form must be returned to the school.  Once one pledge form has been filled in and money has been returned to Ms. B Raymond, students can get another form if they wish.

Book Orders

Scholastic Book orders are due on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Grade 4 Lunchtime

The grade 4 students in our class have a different lunch hour than the grade 3 students. The grade 4s go upstairs for eating times.  Students in grades 4-8 at MCS are permitted to access the cafeteria.  They will still eat in their upstairs room but can purchase food in the cafeteria if desired. Those grade 4 students who wish to stay in their 3/4 classroom to eat are welcome to do so and can still access the cafeteria. 

Welcome!

Welcome to Grade 3 and 4!  What a wonderful class we have this year.  We currently have 20 students in Room 131.  We also have two Educational Assistants in the room, Ms. Candace and Mrs. James.

We spent the day getting to know each other and becoming familiar with some of the class and school routines.  A great deal of paperwork came home with your child today. Please take some time to look it over and complete any forms.

We are looking forward to an amazing year in Room 131!
