Evening of Song

What an amazing performance from all those who participated in the Evening of Song on Thursday!  Thank you to all the parents and family members who came out to support your child, their class, and the music program. We are incredibly lucky to have such talented volunteers in our community. A special thank you to Peter Morris who came into our class each week to share his love of music.

Bike Rodeo

On Tuesday, May 13th our class will be participating in a 45 minute bicycle safety session with Constable Brela from the Deep River Police Department. Students are asked to bring their bike and helmet (if possible) that day.

Cut for the Cure

Today we attended the Cut for the Cure assembly where a large number of students donated their hair in order to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. Ella and Baraa (and his brother Rayan) bravely stepped up on stage and cut their hair. Such courage!  MCS reached their goal of $20,000!

Talent Show

Congratulations to Araav (piano), Ella (hip hop dance), Sydney, Paige and Cameron (singing) for their performances at the talent show today. It took great courage to get up in front of the school. I am very proud of them all.

Evening of Song

Just a reminder that our class will be performing at the Evening of Song on Thursday. Students need to arrive at 6:45pm to be ready for the performance at 7:00pm. Try to have them dress in a light top and dark pants. Hope to see you all there.

Swimming wraps up

This week we completed our last of eight swimming lessons. All of the students worked hard to improve their swimming skills over the past two months. They had a fun day on Tuesday to celebrate their last class.

Assessment Books

On Friday, the students' assessment books were sent home. I apologize for the delay in sending these home, but it has been a busy couple of months. Please go over your child's work with them and return it to school when completed. I am hoping to send it home again in mid-June.

Field Trip

Despite the cold, wet weather, our class had a great trip to the sugar bush this week. They learned how to tap a tree and how to evaporate sap into syrup. We also took a walk through the forest learning about the natural environment around us. We finished the tour with some hot chocolate and maple taffy.
